1. Introduction
DentalConnect ("DentalConnect," "we," "us," or "our") operates this website
(the "Site") to provide a free, personalized dentist referral service. This Privacy
Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site or call our
referral line, how we use and share that information, and the choices available
to you. By using the Site or calling the number listed on the Site, you agree to
the practices described in this Policy.
Important: DentalConnect is a referral service. We are not a
dental practice, and we do not provide dental treatment or medical advice.
Dental services are provided independently by third-party dental professionals
we may refer you to.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
a. Information you provide directly
- Contact details, such as your name, phone number, email address, and mailing address or ZIP code
- Information about the type of dental care you are seeking (e.g., general, cosmetic, implants, preventive, specialized care)
- Details you share with our referral team during a phone call, such as scheduling preferences, insurance information, or general health/dental needs relevant to matching you with a provider
- Any other information you choose to submit through a form on the Site or during a call
b. Information collected automatically
- Device and browser information (IP address, browser type, operating system)
- Usage data (pages viewed, links clicked, time spent on the Site, referring website)
- Approximate location derived from your IP address or provided ZIP code
- Call metadata, such as the date, time, and duration of calls placed to our referral line, and, where legally permitted, call recordings (see Section 5)
c. Information from other sources
- Marketing partners or lead-generation partners who refer you to our Site
- Publicly available sources, where permitted by law
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Match you with a dental provider that may fit your stated needs and location
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our referral service
- Communicate with you about your referral request, including by phone, text, or email
- Respond to inquiries and provide customer support
- Analyze usage trends to improve the quality of our service
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal requests
- Send marketing communications, where permitted, and in accordance with your consent and communication preferences
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your dental treatment information to unrelated third parties for their own advertising purposes without your consent. We may share information with:
- Participating dental providers — so they can contact you about the care you requested
- Service providers — vendors who perform functions on our behalf, such as call routing/tracking, hosting, analytics, and customer support
- Marketing and advertising partners — for example, partners who refer traffic to us, subject to applicable law and consent requirements
- Legal and safety purposes — to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of DentalConnect, our users, or others
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction
5. Phone Calls, Recording & Consent
When you call the number listed on the Site or submit your phone number through a
form, you consent to be contacted by DentalConnect and/or our participating dental
providers or marketing partners at the number provided, including by phone call,
text message, or automated/prerecorded means, even if that number is on a
do-not-call list. Consent to be contacted is not a condition of receiving dental
treatment from any provider.
Calls to and from our referral line may be recorded or monitored for quality
assurance, training, and compliance purposes. Where required by law, we will
notify you that a call may be recorded.
6. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to
operate the Site, remember preferences, measure performance, and deliver relevant
advertising. These technologies may collect information such as your IP address,
browser type, pages visited, and referring/exit pages.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may
affect how parts of the Site function.
7. Your Choices & Rights
- Marketing communications: You may opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in any email, and opt out of marketing texts by replying "STOP."
- Phone calls: You may ask to be added to our internal do-not-call list by contacting us using the information in Section 14.
- Access/correction/deletion: Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. See Section 12 for state-specific rights.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes
described in this Policy, including to provide the referral service, comply with
legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which it is
deleted or de-identified.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to
protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission or storage
is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
The Site and our referral service are intended for adults and are not directed to
children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children
under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please
contact us so we can delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including websites of
participating dental providers. This Policy does not apply to those third-party
sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies separately.
12. State Privacy Rights (California, Virginia, and Other States)
If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or
another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights that include:
- The right to know what personal information we have collected about you
- The right to request deletion of your personal information
- The right to correct inaccurate personal information
- The right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, or targeted advertising, as those terms are defined under applicable law
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 14. We may
need to verify your identity before completing your request.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at
the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be
posted on this page, and, where required by law, we will provide additional notice.
